Which Medium Tent?

Choosing the right tent for your needs can be hard if they all look a bit similar. Lewis, from our Operations Department, guides you through three of our popular Medium Tents - great for families or weekends away - so you can see which is right for you.

Alpha Breeze

The Alpha Breeze is the ideal tent for the small-family campers; a couple with children or a medium-sized pet. Its generous width-to-height ratio provides enough space for every member of the family to sleep and store their belongings comfortably. Its robust pole system and various guy points make it secure and quiet during stormy weather.In the hotter months, you’ll find great comfort in the plethora of ventilation areas located all around the tent. 

 By comparison, I’d choose this tent if you: 

• Are on the taller side or struggle bending down 
• Don’t tend to use large or lots of furniture in your tent 
• Would like an affordable but strong introduction into Snow Peak camping 
• Prefer a succinct footprint with a large sleeping space (works great on smaller campsites)

Land Nest Shelter

This do-it-all family tent is your home away from home. Amongst these 3 tents, it has both the largest sleeping and living areas, with the potential for all the indoor-outdoor upgrades you could imagine. It’s overall length and generous porch space encourages a transition from sleeping, to living, to cooking, eating and relaxing. Though it does rank the heaviest on this list, its build is very beginner friendly and straightforward to put up. The symmetrical design allows for a quick change of direction or placement of sleeping area, should the scenery or ground, call for it. 

By comparison, I’d choose this tent if you: 

• Have a large or growing family 
• Have an assortment of furniture (or plan to expand it!) 
• Prefer something with genuine all-season capabilities 
• Spend most of your time camping in or around your tent 
• Would like a special colourway (black frame and ivory editions now available) 
• Require a large living space for the entire family to be seated, playing games, eating, sleeping.

A picture of versatility and comfort, The Land Nest Dome Medium. This tent combines every component of the Land Nest Shelter and shrinks them just enough, so they might fit your purpose a little bit better. It boasts a fractional carry-weight while maintaining the purposeful, secure design of the Land Nest Shelter. Like it’s parent tent, its symmetrical and can be used with or without a sleeping area, creating an even larger living space. Mesh Side Panels allow for good ventilation.

By comparison, I’d choose this tent if you: 

• Prefer the darker, more subtle earthy colour 
• Camp solo, with a friend or a family / children 
• Need something with a smaller pack size but without sacrificing comfort
