Snow Peak Way 2026 - The South Downs
This was the first year we hosted both Snow Peak Way North and South. For the South, we returned to Holden farm amidst the South Downs’ vast landscape for a celebration of community and culture as the summer camping season comes to a close. From Takibi time to embracing Noasobi,our traditional festival really emphasises what it means to camp the Snow Peak way.
We marked the start of our festival by breaking open the sake barrel and sharing a drink with new and old faces, introducing new members of the team to our Snow Peak community. This is a unique opportunity for both guests and the team to connect in way that differs to the store environment, with a lot of first campers getting stuck in and learning from our intermediate campers. The first Takibi Time of the weekend is always incredibly special. Connection, warmth and cooking unfolds as we share these stories and discover new ways of connecting with the outdoors.
Saturday was filled with both new and traditional Snow Peak workshops. The day was welcomed with a morning yoga session from Molly under our Recta Tarp as we were blessed with incredible warmth and sun. From repurposing broken tent materials into flags and garments to tie dye and leather reworking workshops the day was packed with grounding activities. Block printing enabled guests to craft memoirs of the weekend and Snow Peak style gifts for their friends and family.
Familiar partners such as Origin Coffee were there to provide immaculate tasting sessions throughout the day. The Masterclass cooking workshops with Michelin star Chef Ivan Tisdall-Downes demonstrated that cooking outdoors can be adventurous and delicious. We also welcomed back Sylva to run the bar and enjoyed ORCHARD their sharp and earthy non-alcoholic spirit, alongside our final evening of Takibi.
Evenings around the shared Takibi areas were relaxed, and we all enjoyed chatting to old friends we'd met at previous SPW's and making new friends.
We rounded off the weekend with our traditional paper aeroplane contest in which prizes of our Folding Torch, Chopping board knife set and a Tramezzino for first place were up for grabs.
The spirit of the weekend was infectious, we were left feeling incredibly grateful to our friends, community and team for again creating such a warm and peaceful setting. Snow Peak Way South marks the close of the summer camping season, embracing the change in weather, and welcomes a new season of different styles of camping.
