For me, sharing a meal has always been about more than just food. Sitting around a table with others, preparing and enjoying a meal together, is one of life’s most meaningful rituals. Yet, in modern life, eating has often become something rushed, another task to fit into a busy schedule.

Fade Projects is about slowing that down. It’s about taking the time to source ingredients, prepare the meal, setting the table and or even building the camp. It’s about appreciating the process as much as the outcome. I started Fade Projects with a simple intention: to inspire people to get outside and connect through the act of cooking over fire.

My first encounter with Snow Peak was at a garden centre event. I remember being immediately captivated by the atmosphere of the camp setup, the harmony of design, craftsmanship, and understated simplicity. After speaking with the team and viewing the products closely, I left with a Takibi Fire & Grill and haven’t looked back since.

Recently, my partner Annie and I relocated to St Ives, West Cornwall, where we pursue our passion for living a balanced lifestyle by the sea. We run a small catering company that specialises in delivering intimate alfresco dining experiences cooked over an open fire.

Whenever we host in remote locations, the Takibi Fire & Grill is always at the heart of our setup. It’s compact, lightweight and easy to carry, yet capable of transforming any space into a warm, welcoming gathering place. Paired with the Single Action Bamboo table and a couple of Take chairs, we have a perfect outdoor restaurant set up for two.

The adjustable grill heights make cooking over fire effortless, and we love the leave-no-trace design. We can arrive at a quiet coastal spot, set up, host a meal, and leave without disturbing a thing. And as the last plates are cleared, there’s no better way to end the evening than stoking the fire, drawing close to its warmth, and watching the sun fade into the horizon.

At its core, Fade Projects is about connection. To people, to place, and to the moment. Snow Peak’s ethos aligns perfectly with that. Together, they remind us that slowing down, being present, and sharing food under an open sky is something worth making time for.
