Build Your Camp Kitchen with the Snow Peak IGT

Preparing food at a Snow Peak IGT camp kitchen

Cooking outdoors can be one of the best parts of camping.

It might start with coffee in the morning or something quick for lunch, but once you start cooking more outdoors, having a proper space to prepare food makes a big difference.

You don’t need a full camp kitchen to begin with. A stove, a pan and somewhere to prepare food is enough.

That is also a good way to think about the Snow Peak Iron Grill Table, or IGT. It is a modular system, so you can start small and add to it over time depending on how you actually cook.

Start with the Flat Burner

A good place to start is the Flat Burner.

It is a compact single-burner stove that can be used on its own, so you don’t need an IGT setup immediately.

For a simple trip, that might be all you need. Put the kettle on in the morning, cook breakfast, make noodles for lunch or use a pan for dinner.

The useful part is that the Flat Burner can also become part of the IGT later.

Instead of replacing your stove when you want a bigger setup, you can build around it.

From a Stove to a Camp Kitchen

The Flat Burner fits directly into an IGT frame.

Once it is installed, the burner becomes part of the table rather than sitting on top of it.

That gives you work space next to the heat source, which sounds simple but is genuinely useful when cooking.

You can prepare ingredients beside the burner, keep a kettle or cookware nearby and move food straight from preparation to the pan.

A basic setup could be:

- an IGT frame and legs

- a Flat Burner

- one or two work surfaces

- the cookware you already use

If you are starting from scratch, the IGT Starter Bundle gives you the frame and legs to build from.

There isn’t really one correct IGT setup.

That is the point.

Build It Around What You Cook

You can keep the setup small, or add more to it as you need it.

If most of your outdoor cooking is coffee and breakfast, you probably don’t need a huge kitchen.

If you cook for a family or a group, having more preparation space starts to become useful.

You might add another worktop, more storage, or extend the table so there is more room for cooking and serving.

The wider IGT collection includes different frames, work surfaces, storage and other components that can be combined together.

Getting Started with the Iron Grill Table

Cook Good Food Outside

A camp stove doesn’t have to mean basic camping food.

You can make coffee and breakfast in the morning, fry vegetables for lunch, cook meat in a cast-iron pan, or have something going in a pot while everyone is sitting around camp.

Having the burner and preparation area together just makes this easier.

You are not constantly moving things between a separate stove, table and food preparation area.

And if more than one person is cooking, there is space for someone to prepare ingredients while someone else is at the stove.

That is where IGT becomes more than just a camping table.

It gives you a proper place to cook.

Start Small and Add to It

One of the things we like about IGT is that you don’t need to decide on the final setup straight away.

Start with a Flat Burner.

Add an IGT frame when you want more working space.

Then add more pieces if you actually need them.

Over time, a simple camping stove can become a full outdoor kitchen, but it doesn’t have to start that way.

That makes the Flat Burner a good starting point for anyone who wants to cook more outdoors, while still leaving plenty of room to expand later.
