A Sheet of Titanium, a Lifetime of Adventure

In Niigata Prefecture, north of Tokyo, lies Tsubame-Sanjo (燕三条 ) — a region renowned for its metalworking. It is here that Snow Peak was founded, in the city of Sanjo, and where our relationship with local metalworkers stretches back to the early days of the company.

It was here that Snow Peak developed its first titanium mugs. Today, our titanium collection continues to be produced in Niigata, Japan, bringing together lightweight materials, durability and considered Japanese design.

The iconic Snow Peak titanium mug has Single Wall and Double Wall as options.

The Titanium Single Wall Mug strips things back to the essentials. The four sizes range from the compact 220ml at 45g through to the generous 600ml at just 88g. Each size nests into the next, while folding handles keep the mugs compact when packed. Single Wall mugs can also be placed directly over a heat source for cooking or warming.

The Titanium Double Wall Mug uses two layers of titanium with an insulating air pocket between them, helping drinks remain warm or cool for longer. The current collection is also offered from 220ml through to 600ml. Double Wall mugs should not be placed directly over a heat source.

The finished mug is intentionally simple.
Its beginning is even simpler: a flat sheet of titanium.

Titanium brings together low weight, durability and resistance to corrosion — qualities that make it particularly suited to equipment designed to travel.

But turning a flat sheet into the smooth, thin form of a mug requires precision.

The titanium is progressively formed through pressing, gradually taking on the familiar cylindrical shape of the finished mug.

From a flat sheet of metal to an object designed to be held thousands of times.

Even the folding handle has its own story.

Its apparently simple wire form is shaped through a series of bends to create a three-dimensional grip — designed to sit naturally around the fingers while folding closely against the mug when packed.

A titanium item doesn't need to remain pristine.

It gets packed into bags, carried outdoors and used for countless adventures.

Scratches appear. The surface changes.

Each mark becomes part of its history.

The durability of titanium means those signs of use can accumulate over years rather than signal the end of the product.

At camp, travelling, or simply drinking coffee at home, the same object gradually becomes familiar.
